After graduating with his engineering degree, Nolan chose a non-engineering path by working for a national non-profit organization in which he coordinated legislation and lobbying efforts on conservation and environmental issues. He returned to New Mexico taking a position with Bernalillo County. In his nearly 17 years with the County, he held positions in Environmental Health, IT/Accounting, Planning and Engineering/ Construction. As the Construction Manager, he managed projects ranging small roadway/drainage improvements to projects topping $20 million. He is currently the Field Engineer at AMAFCA which entails managing projects and coordinating the maintenance of AMAFCA s very diverse facilities.
